The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Employee Psychological Empowerment in Order to Develop Capabilities and Entrepreneurial Activities in Organization

Abstract

Today, the successful and dynamic response of any organization in a competitive and global changes require a change in organizational activities, how to manage them, and especially leadership; Leaders who help organization though deep thinking, injecting values, and linking individual and collective interests and provide context for development and improvement of entrepreneurial capabilities by supporting new thoughts and ideas. This study aimed to explain the impact of transformational leadership on employees' psychological empowerment in order to develop capabilities and entrepreneurial activities in organization. This study is applied and descriptive survey. According to the Cochrans formula, the sample size is of 254 employees of Lorestan University (750 faculty and staff) which was selected by stratified random sampling method. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire which its validity and reliability was confirmed through content validity and Cronbach's alpha. To test the hypotheses, structural equation modeling approach and Amos software were used. The results showed that by confidence level of 0/05, transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on psychological empowerment and organizational entrepreneurship. In addition, by confidence level of 0/05, psychological empowerment has a mediating effect in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational entrepreneurship.
